The Environmental Way To Recycle Your Household Garbage

Going green and helping the environment starts in the home. Using something as small as banana peels and apple cores with a mixture of dirt and water to help create compost for plants provides several benefits. It eliminates the amount of food waste sitting in landfills waiting to decompose as well as allowing you to provide a natural fertilizer for your plants.

Instead of throwing out the empty orange juice and milk cartons, use them for plant pots. With the help of construction paper, glue and a little creativity, the ordinary carton can be turned into a pencil or paper clip holder.

Make bird feeders out of empty water bottle instead of throwing them away. During the holidays, adding food color, water and glitter makes a great snow globe craft project for the family. Refill the gallon water jugs with water from fresh water machines. Not only does refilling the water jugs eliminate the use of extra jugs, it saves money. Water from a fresh water machine only cost fractions compared to buying a new gallon of water.

Make sure the garbage bag is filled to capacity before empting the trash. Earn extra money and send those recycle empty cans.
